Where Were You?

There are times in history when evil overshadows good. Times when blind hate is put on display for all to see. September 11, 2001 was not one of those times. It was a time of true heroism. It was a time when love for our fellowman outweighed fear of the unknown.
So where were you? Not when planes were turned into weapons. Not when hate was brought to our doorstep.
No.
Where were you when hundreds of firefighters raced to certain death to save countless lives. Where were you when ordinary people became beyond extraordinary? Where were you when unselfish love triumphed over unspeakable hate? Where were you when unimaginable tragedy gave birth to unparalleled heroism.
Where were you?

You’re Not Leaving, Are You?!!

As you may already know the River Glass Designs family got a little bigger this year, and no we didn’t get fatter…more fatter?…fatterer? Well whatever it is, that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m referring to the fact that Megan had another baby. What you may not know, is that in her absence my girlfriend Whitney Justin’s wife Whitney has been filling in. And I must say she has been a wonderful addition to the office. She fits right in. I’m pretty sure she likes me too…like, likes me likes me, so you can imagine my disappointment when i discovered she may be leaving when Megan returns.
Now it may seem logical that she leaves, after all it might be awkward having both of my girlfriends in the office at once overkill having two people doing the same job.
Overkill Shmoverkill!
Who wouldn’t want two of a good thing?
What’s better than one hand? Umm… two hands!
What’s better than one meatball sub? Umm… Two Meatball Subs!
What’s better than one Frameless Shower? Two Frameless Showers and Mirrors!
What’s better than one kid? Two Kids…actually that might be inaccurate…that answer might actually be no kids…unless you have kids, in which case I’m sure they’re lovely and that your life is quite fulfilling…I mean who doesn’t like wiping up another humans doodoo…
…this is awkward…
Back to the subject at hand…Whitney should stay! And if you agree please like this post or comment or something that proves you read this…

I know what you’re thinking - “Here we go! He’s gonna start trying to convince us that we need cast glass tops, or counters, or breakfast buffets!”
WRONG!
Most of you gentlepeople don’t need those things. You probably already have plenty of tables in your home…
Wooden tables…Buncha lumber jack lovers!
In fact, I bet your dining room table’s made of wood, your kitchen table’s made of wood, your nightstand’s are made of wood and your desk too.
What’re you trying to recreate the forest?!

Keep It Quick…

These days people seem to be looking for quality coupled with speed. There was a time when, if someone really wanted something, something done right, they were willing to wait for it.
I miss those times. Now people want things done right and right now. So quite frequently, people want to know how fast our frameless shower process is.
Hey River Glass Designs how fast are you? How fast are we? How FAST are WE? Well not to brag but, we made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs! Yeah, that fast.
Actually we can usually be out for a free in home measure within 2 to 4 days of your initial call. Once we come out and discuss design, layout, and options, we will try and have your proposal to you within 24 hours. Then my friend, the ball is in your court.
Once you give us your approval, we can order your hardware, fabricate your glass, send it out to be tempered and show up to your house for install, all in about 2 weeks. Not bad for a custom handmade frameless shower.
Now I’m sure some of you Nay-Sayers are like:
“TWO WEEKS?! How can I go two weeks without a shower?!
My only reply to that is – what have you been doing up until this point?
Seriously though, perhaps you got excited and ripped out your old shower, or you have moved into a new home that needs a shower enclosure, in those cases here are some suggestions:
1) You can put that gym membership you ambitiously got in January to good use by showering there. Bring shower shoes though, athlete’s foot is yucky.
2) You can go to a neighbor’s house to say “hi” or to “talk.” While there excuse yourself to use the bathroom, hint that it’s number 2 to buy yourself some time. Find a bathroom with a shower and BAM, in your face neighbors! And finally…
3) You can always, from the comfort of your own bathroom, grab a rag and “wash-up” in the sink. It really works, as long as your goal is to not be clean or smell good. Yeah, if your goal is to simply moisten the dirt on your body so you can spread it all over yourself like a thin layer of frosting, then it works great!
…You should probably call us right now and get the ball rolling…

CHANNEL! Are You Kidding Me?

Have you ever been in a verbal altercation and realized you didn’t really have much to support your side of the argument?
At that point you have one of two options: Admit you’re wrong and bow out gracefully or shift focus onto something completely different.
“Honey, did you really spend $300.00 on comics?”
“Well it’s my money too!”
“But we can barely afford to pay our bills, why wouldn’t you at least check with me first?!!”
Decision time: Back down or Shift focus…
“Uh…Well…I…Uh, Well Why didn’t you check with me before you got that ugly haircut?!!”
Yikes! You can’t unspeak those words. Trust me!
Well it seems the same type of arguing takes place in the glass industry. Everyone is so quick to say: “My product is better.” But the actual argument and reasoning to support these claims are usually quite shallow. Sometimes they’re down right ridiculous. Some companies point out that we, River Glass Designs, use channel or clamps to secure our fixed panels on a Frameless Shower.
I don’t really know what to say to that… Sorry that we make our frameless showers stable and safe?
These particular people refer to channel and clamps like they’re the plague or Somali Pirates.
It’s almost like they used to date channel and clamps and fell in love with them and asked them to get married. But channel and clamps said “No, it’s a little too soon”. Which sent them into a downward spiral of anger and confusion. And then months later they saw channel and clamps with a new handsomer company looking as beautiful as ever , which fueled their hatred and jealousy, until they snapped and…..
Wow! That was getting good, huh?
Actually they’re referring to the fact that they don’t use any channel to create what they call a “truly frameless” look.
What they fail to mention is that River Glass Designs can create that exact same look for you, we just need to be involved with your particular project before the tile work begins. Really whether your preference is channel, clamps or neither we will work with you to create your dream shower. Because what YOU want is key, not what you’re told to want.
So to everyone who criticizes us over what we use or don’t use, we say…
“Whatever, you have ugly haircuts!!”
